Mount Pleasant police said Thursday afternoon they are "actively" helping the staff of the Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills capture the loose bull as they also search for a bear that has been repeatedly sighted in the Hardscrabble area of town.
"This isn't a joke," police said. "We really are helping the restaurant and farm staff try to capture the cow."
The restaurant, Blue Hill at Stone Barns, known around the world for its farm-to-table approach to food, was named the best in the country recently by Eater.com.
Police said they believe the loose bull belongs to the farms connected with the restaurant.
They said the bear was seen by a resident on Wednesday in the same area police have searched for it in the past, saying its a frequent visitor to the area.
As usual, they are warning residents not to approach the bear and to report any sightings to police.
As for the loose bull, we will let you know.
